Nándor Nádorfalvi

Musician, Electrical Engineer, Yoga Instructor, Lifestyle Consultant, ACS

As a child, I often listened to the musical adaptations of Sándor Weöres' poems – I believe this is where my deep love for music first began.
At the age of eight, my parents enrolled me in piano lessons with István Marosi, the bassoonist of the Csiky Gergely Theatre. But somehow, I never took to the forced reading of sheet music. I envied the other kids playing football after lunch or hanging out at the playground, while I trudged off to piano lessons, trying to come up with an excuse for not having practiced again.
Every time I hear that famous song: "While you were playing in the square, I was pounding keys on a piano…" (Locomotiv GT) – these memories always come rushing back. That’s exactly how it was.

When I turned eighteen, while my friends were buying cars, I spent all my money on an electric guitar. From that point on, I played constantly – at first just for myself, in my room. I always felt like I had more to improve on, and I wished I could sing too.
Then, years later, one evening around a campfire, I discovered: I didn’t need to wait. I could already do it.
From then on, I took my guitar everywhere – on trains, buses, planes, 20-kilometer forest hikes, and even to work. Chances are, I have it with me right now.

In high school, I traded a cassette tape with a boy from Australia. It had recordings of Tommy Emmanuel, the world-famous "one-man band" guitarist. I had no idea at the time how much this little exchange would shape my life. To this day, I happily practice and play his songs almost every day. I believe this is my true style.

During my university years, my friends and I founded the justly famous band "The Cookimonsters," playing blues, funk, and rock. Over time, though, the focus shifted more toward musical experiences and connection. To this day, we still get together for spontaneous jam nights and performances, where the goal is to make everyone part of the music – through singing, dancing, and sound-making.

“God created music so we could pray without words.” — John Lennon

My interest in yoga began in 2011, when I was looking for a way out of the rat race after a car accident. That’s how I found my way to yoga classes, and later to the Nārada Academy, where I discovered a philosophy, worldview, and lifestyle that deeply resonated with me. Today, I’m actively working as a yoga instructor and lifestyle consultant.

In the spring of 2023, I was invited to join the MantraSOUND team, where I aim to bring forth the vibration carried by ancient mantras through soft harmonies and the guitar.
My goal is to help listeners connect to the flow through these mantras – to access a taste, a piece of wisdom, and a sense of peace, thereby improving themselves and the world around them.
